Federal/Private Fellowships
The Graduate School supports numerous prestigious fellowships funded by external agencies and organizations. They provide funding to specific areas of study or research concentrations, as specified by the agencies. Eligibility is specific to criteria established by the funding source, but most require excellent academic achievements and research proposals. Applications for most fellowships are due in the fall semester; check your program of interest for a specific timeline. Fellows are provided full tuition support during the fellowship, as well as a generous health insurance package. The fellowship programs that are supported are:
- National Science Foundation
- Jacob K. Javits Fellowship Program
- Ford Foundation Fellowship Programs
- National Physical Science Consortium
There are many other notable fellowship programs which students should consider, and may be available for partial support:
- Social Science Research Council
- American Council of Learned Societies
- Charlotte W. Newcombe Fellowship
- Pew Scholars
- American Association of University Women
- SMART Program
- Gilliam Fellowships
- Hertz Foundation
