Guide to Graduate Student Life
You can order the Guide to Graduate Student Life online through Materials Distribution Services (MDS). Once you are on the MDS site, select MDS Supplies on the right hand side of the page. Next, select MDS Ordering System. The next page will ask if you’re new or been here. Select been here. Login with your MDSGS number and password. Please contact Kathi Matthews-Risley if you need your account number or password.
To place an order select from the items available on the "Graduate School Materials" page. Items are available in bundle and/or box quantities. To order more than one unit, enter a number other than '1' in the "Qty" filed in "Shopping Cart". Make sure to use the "Update Cart" button or the system will default you back to one unit. Orders placed by 3:00 p.m. will be delivered the next business day.
GradLink@Madison bookmarks
GradLink@Madison is a monthly email newsletter intended to inform graduate students of events and opportunities that support their professional development. It includes workshop announcements, fellowship opportunities, academic deadlines, volunteer opportunities, social events, and community events likely to be of broad interest to most graduate students.
Contact Kathi Matthews-Risley if you would like to order bookmarks with the GradLink@Madison Web address for your students.
Consultations and Workshops
The Graduate School offers workshops for graduate students on many topics, including career planning, grantsmanship, and time management. We can develop a new workshop or tailor a current offering to meet the interests of the people in your department. Graduate coordinators, faculty, and graduate student organization contacts may request workshops by contacting Eileen Callahan, Director of Graduate Student Professional Development by email, or by phone 262-6133.
